Breakfast Tray |
|
Here’s a romantic image: a man entering the bedroom, carrying breakfast on a tray, and setting it down on the bed for his wife. It’s especially nice if there is also a rose on the tray. Of course the roles can be reversed. Either way, it’s a special moment isn’t it? There’s nothing like waking up to find toast, juice, cereal and coffee, served in a tray. The first step in choosing a breakfast tray is determining weather you want a flat tray, or a tray with legs. The flat models are simplest in design, and are meant to rest on a table, or on a person’s lap. The models with legs are meant specifically to be used in bed. The short legs mean the tray is more stable, and the lucky recipient of a hot breakfast will be more comfortable while eating. With most of these types of trays, the legs can be folded under the tray, so that they can also be used on a table, and so that they take up less space in the kitchen. Some have more ingenious features, such as the ability to angle the top of the tray. This of course is not meant to be done for serving breakfast, but because the tray can now serve a dual purpose: it can be used as a reading tray or for writing, or even as a laptop tray. |

In terms of materials, there is no shortage
of choices: They come in wood, bamboo, plastic, melamine (which is dishwasher
safe). Some even have a leather top, with beautiful ornate designs on
the surface. And finally the styles range from sleek and modern to cute
and traditional, while some focus purely on practicality. |
